Integrated Campaigns
Here are some examples of integrated campaigns I guided to advance critical policy initiatives and drive advocacy efforts.
House Resolution 1

In 2025, I helped develop a comprehensive media and communications plan for Children's Defense Fund to raise awareness around the White House’s reconciliation budget proposal and its potential impacts on the health care and nutritional safety of children and young people nationwide. The strategy was designed not only to spotlight the real-world consequences of the legislation, but also to position the organization as an active, national leader engaged in critical policy conversations across the country.
Â
To achieve this, I guided targeted earned media efforts by drafting and securing op-ed placements in key markets where we maintain state offices and where targeted persuasion of members of the United States House of Representatives was essential. This resulted in placements across outlets large and small, from The Dallas Morning News to the Athens (OH) County Independent.
Â
This media push was coupled with informative social media content I helped develop that broke down the complexities of the reconciliation bill and outlined what was at stake with its passage. To maximize our impact, the core messaging from our social media posts was seamlessly repurposed to power an email campaign, encouraging our followers to voice their concerns directly to their respective representatives in Congress.
Literary Censorship, National Day of Social ActionÂ

Every year, Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom Schools participants across more than 26 states take part in a National Day of Social Action to spotlight policies affecting children. For the 2024 event, I oversaw media relations and social media strategy, related to the event, managing multi-state press release distribution and coordinating simultaneous outreach with reporters across multiple markets.
Â
This effort successfully secured media coverage in 8 media markets, including Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Austin, Texas focusing on public school and library book censorship. In addition to using organic social media to highlight our scholars' perspectives (see above) and actions for both current followers and new audiences, we executed targeted paid campaigns on Meta and LinkedIn to mobilize followers to voice opposition to community book bans.
Â
Ultimately, we leveraged this initial media momentum to fuel "60 for 60," a related advocacy campaign featuring authors reading to scholars and discussing literary censorship, which drove even further media attention.
EJC Report

In 2025, I worked on a media campaign focused on the Los Angeles area to address subpar living conditions in Los Angeles County juvenile detention facilities. Our California office policy team, alongside local partners, produced a report to bring attention to the problem.
Â
In addition to highlighting the report on social media, I secured coverage in local outlets like the Los Angeles Daily News and Spectrum News 1 SoCal. The discussion generated by the report led to real action when the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors took notice and invited our policy staff members to their office to discuss the findings and find solutions.
Â
Discussions with local leaders on how to improve living conditions for incarcerated youth continue to this day.
